Creating a Reference List
Answer
Creating a References Page
Creating your references page is also simple.
-
References start on a new page.
-
Type ‘References’ at the top and center of the page, in bold print (do not italicize or underline).
-
The text should be double spaced, and the entries should be in the APA format.
-
Reference list entries must be in alphabetical order.
-
Each entry should use the hanging indention, i.e. for each entry, every line after the first line must be indented.
-
To apply a hanging indention, right-click on the desired paragraph, select paragraph from the menu, then under Indention, select the Special drop-down menu, select Hanging, then click OK. (You can also highlight all your references and apply these steps to all of them at once).
Reminder:
- Check that you have cited all quotations and paraphrases in-text and in the references.
- Any item that was cited in-text must have a reference list entry
- Every item that is included in your references must have been cited at least once in-text.
