What to do when a source has no publication date

Answer

When there is no date for a published item, replace the publication date in the in-text citation and reference page entry with n.d. This stands for no date. For example:

Parenthetical citation: “Citation is a task that is essential to scholarly writing” (Carter, n.d., p. 3).

Narrative citation: Carter (n.d.) states that “Citation is a task that is essential to scholarly writing.”
