When to use p. vs pp. for page numbers

Answer

If you are using an in-text citation for information coming from a single page, use p. Example: (Donaldson, 2018, p. 3). If you are citing information from two or more pages you use pp. instead. (Donaldson, 2018, pp. 3-4). If there are no breaks between the pages, such as referencing information from pages 3 through 5, then use a hyphen between them (Donaldson, 2018, pp. 3-5). If the pages are not right adjacent to each other, then use commas to separate them (Donaldson, 2018, pp. 3, 6, 9-10).
