What is a scholarly source?
Answer
Many resources can be scholarly. The easiest to find is the journal article. Journal articles are often written by professionals in that field and may even be reviewed for accuracy by other professionals in that field. A scholarly resource is one that is written by an expert in that subject area and which is written to either inform or to advance knowledge in that area. Books can be scholarly as well. Some websites can also be scholarly – though these are normally the .edu and .gov websites rather than the more commonplace .com websites.
