How do I use a COUNTA formula in Microsoft Excel?

Answer

COUNTA adds up the number of cells in a given range that are not empty. The syntax for this formula is as follows: =COUNTA(cellrange)

Example: =COUNTA(A3:A20)

This would give the number of cells between A3 and A20 that contain a value of any kind.
