Why is my Originality Verification score so high?

Answer

Originality Verification just gives you a score for how many parts of your paper match parts in other papers. It does not account for whether or not you actually cited this. This means that the following things, while not necessarily plagiarism, do get counted: common phrases, citations, and titles of other works. It will also count your quotations even if they are accurately cited. Now, having a very high score can be bad and should be avoided - but what you should do is use the score to check your paper for errors in giving credit to your sources. Check the highlighted areas and ensure that anything that should have a citation with it, has one.
