What is the Learning Center?

Answer

You can access the Learning Center on the AIU website by logging into the virtual campus and clicking on Learning Center at the top navigation bar.

We offer access to tutoring through tutor.com, our 24/7, free, online tutoring service. You can submit questions, submit writing samples for review, and attend live tutoring in math, writing, English, business, information technology, Microsoft Office, and nursing/health topics.

We also offer live chats on the first four weeks of every session. These live chats are promoted through announcements to all students. They are topics such as basic APA formatting, stress management, study planning, finding help at AIU, etc.

We also have a number of resources at this homepage (https://careered.libguides.com/AIUOLC). This page is accessible from the Learning Center page on the virtual campus as well. It has a calendar of our upcoming live chats, information on getting help, and many more resources listed below!

  • Search for Tutorials: Search a collection of video and PDF guides and tutorials on math, writing, Microsoft Office, and more.

  • Frequently Asked Questions: Search a collection of answers to common questions such as how to submit assignments, how to navigate the classroom, where to find help with APA, how to contact the Advising department, and other questions related to AIU.

  • Classroom Success: This contains a number of pages on how to navigate your classroom and contact instructors.

  • Learning Center Tutorials > Improve Your Learning Skills: Access four tutorial sets introducing APA, basic research, advanced research, and being a self-directed learner.

  • Subject Help: Access Learning Centers on Math, Microsoft Office, and Writing. These pages have many of the same resources and guides from the ‘Search for Tutorials’ search, but in a browsable web-page format.
