How do I search for specific sources like scholarly, businesses or industry sources?

how do I search for certain sources like scholarly sources and business or industry sources?

Answer

For business sources, start with the Recommended Databases for Doctor of Management page of the Doctoral Resource Center.

Industry resources are a little harder to find because it's not a typical doctoral topic.  There is a page on the A-Z database list that breaks out library resources by subject, and company (and therefore industry) information is located there.  I recommend starting with IBIS World, which is our main industry database.  You may also find good industry coverage in Business Source Complete.

Finding scholarly articles depends on your definition of scholarly.  It's safe to say pretty much everything in the library resources is scholarly or academic in nature.  However, you may mean peer-reviewed, which is that highest level of scholarship.  Most databases will give you a way to limit to peer-reviewed resources on the advanced search page or on the results page, but each database is different so you'll have to look around for it.  Some databases, like IBIS World, do not have that option because the content is not peer-reviewed - but it is scholarly!  Please contact the library if you want advice on limiting to peer review in a specific database.
