When writing an assignment for school (or anything else!) you need to give credit to the sources you consulted to learn about the topic.  At CTU, we use APA Style to cite our sources.  The Writing Support Center has a whole section on the details of APA Style.

Citing a source happens in two pieces:

  1. In the text of the writing, you place an in-text citation that provides basic information about the source.  This tells the reader where to look for more information about this content.
  2. At the end of the document, you write complete references on a reference page.  These references provide the details your reader needs to find the resource themselves.

See the Writing Support Center on how to craft in-text citations and references, with lots of examples.
